Safety Awareness Session: During the safety awareness session, participants are educated on the hazards associated with the use of construction passenger or goods hoists. This includes understanding safe working load marking, erecting, inspecting, and testing construction hoists. Additionally, participants learn about the functions of all main components and are instructed on safe operating practices in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

This includes inspecting hoist way enclosures, landing gates, cage/platform gates, and electrical/mechanical interlocks. End of Shift Protocol: At the end of each shift, trainees are required to park the hoist safely in the designated position, remove the key, and isolate the hoist from the main power supply.
